Lucifer’s Rebellion Begins:

God created Lucifer, a cherub perfect in his ways. Yet, Lucifer had free choice. He rebelled against God, transforming himself into Satan. Thus, he became God’s adversary. This rebellion, called the Katabolé (Overthrow), started our current Earth Age.

For example, *Katabolé* (καταβολή), meaning “Overthrow,” marks Satan’s fall. Most people misunderstand its role in restoring grace. Long ago, evil and pride grew in Lucifer like a trickle of water. This event shaped all creation today.

Understanding the Katabolé is vital for End Time prophecies. God plans to restore us. John 1:14 states Jesus “came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Through grace, Jesus restores us to God..

Satan Before the Fall:

Before his fall, Satan was a good angel. Ezekiel 28:14–15 describes him as “the anointed cherub that covereth,” blameless until wickedness arose. God cast him and his throne to earth. Now, Satan seeks to exalt his throne above God, per Isaiah 14:12–13.

Moreover, “Lucifer” means “Light-Bringer” or “Day Star.” Ezekiel names him a chief angel guarding God’s throne. His beauty and wisdom led to pride, sparking the Katabolé.

Who Are the Morning Stars?

There seems to be two groups, Morning Stars and Sons of God.

Job 38:4–7 reveals the Morning Stars and Sons of God rejoicing at Earth’s creation:

[4] Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
[5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
[6] Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
[7] When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Are Morning Stars distinct from Sons of God? Some suggest Morning Stars symbolize souls later breathed into man. For instance, John 3:13 says, “no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven.

Romans 9:11 (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

The Overthrow’s Impact:

Revelation 12:4 uses “stars” for angels: “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.” Satan persuaded a third of angels to follow him. These fallen angels, now demons, oppose God’s plan. Our spiritual warfare targets these forces, not flesh.

Ezekiel 28:12–18 details Satan’s fall:

[13] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God…

[15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
[16] …therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God…
[17]Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
[18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

Isaiah 14:12–16 continues:

[12] How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
[13] For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
[14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
[15] Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
[16] They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

God Destroys the First Earth Age:

Some claim Earth is only 6,000 years old, citing Adam’s creation (4004 BC). Yet, dinosaur fossils date millions of years. The Katabolé explains this. God destroyed the First Earth Age after Satan’s rebellion.

The purpose of this article is not to debate but to present the material concerning the Katabol (é). However God in the scripture tells us that he destroys the age of Satan’s overthrow.

For example, 2 Peter 3:5–7 states:

[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
[6] Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
[7] But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire…

Jeremiah 4:24–27 adds:

[24] I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
[25] I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
[26] I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
[27] For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

He did not make a full end. We pick up in Genesis where God is going to renew the earth after it became void and without form from his fierce anger because of the overthrow.

Genesis, A New Beginning:

Genesis 1:2 reads, “And the earth was without form, and void.” In Hebrew, “was” is *hayah* (Strong’s #01961), meaning “had become.” Thus, “the earth had become without form, and void” (*tohu vav bohu*). The term *tehown* (“deep”) links to *abussos* (Greek: abyss), home of demons.

There is some hidden detail here if you are willing to dig into the Hebrew.

Therefore, God renewed the earth after the Katabolé’s destruction. Jeremiah 4:26 confirms this desolation stemmed from God’s anger. Digging into Hebrew reveals hidden truths.

The Ongoing Spiritual War:

Ephesians 6:11–17 declares our spiritual warfare:

[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Satan persists in disrupting God’s restoration plan:

For instance, he corrupted Eve (Genesis 3), sent Nephilim (Genesis 6), and inspired Herod’s infanticide (Matthew 2). False teachings (Matthew 24) and the Antichrist (Revelation) continue his efforts. However, Christ’s cross secured victory.

Thus, the Katabolé shapes our spiritual battle. **Christ Sword** equips God’s elect with KJV truth to stand firm.
